I had two hours for this show and used them wisely – the first hour is a relaxing blend of styles with tracks from artists like Papa M, Aphex Twin, Kronos Quartet, Mercury Rev, Ornette Coleman and Rainer Ptacek among others.
The second hour is a portrait of sorts of Label Boss/Producer/Musician Orrin Keepnews and his time in charge of Riverside Records from 1952-63, a fabulous Jazz orientated label that put out some truly great records from the likes of Bill Evans, Monk, Nat Adderley, Wes Montgomery and Bobby Timmons.
