I had two hours for this show so I decided to compile some of my favorite jazz tracks by certain producers I really like, people like George Avakian, Bob Thiele and Neshi Ertegun and the wonderful music they produced for labels like Atlantic, Impulse and Prestige in the 1950’s and 60’s – expect to hear a lot of Miles Davis, Mingus, Coltrane, Ray Charles and guys like Gil Scott Heron, Red Garland and Chico Hamilton.
