The first half hour is mainly soul and funk from The Meters, Irma Thomas, Al Green and his producer/collaborator Willie Mitchell. The second half starts off with a great piece from the much underrated Paul Desmond’s 1963 album ‘Easy Living’, followed by Erroll Garner’s lovely reading of ‘I’m in the mood for love’. The last three tracks are all classical pieces starting with Erik Satie (as arranged by Debussy), a fine cello performance from Yo Yo Ma and finishing with The Dublin Guitar Quartet’s remarkable version of Philip Glass’ ‘String Quartet no.3 (Mishima)’
