I had a two hour slot recently so to make the best of it I thought I’d play a lot of Jazz I have been listening to lately – mostly 40s/50s classics from the likes of Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey and Sidney Bechet in the first hour then more traditional and avant-garde stuff from Thelonious, Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Duke and Stan Getz in the second hour. I will also be playing a few choice Simon & Garfunkel tracks as I have finally come around to the fact that they are class.
